High-Level Dialogue: Trips at 30

The WTO TRIPS Agreement, established under the Marrakesh Agreement on April 15, 1994, celebrates three decades of implementation this April 25th. Coinciding with the TRIPS Council meeting, this panel will showcases the diverse experiences of WTO Members in implementing the TRIPS framework. The panel will also highlight the role of intellectual property systems in fostering knowledge creation, dissemination, and accessibility, while promoting sustainable development and societal welfare. The discussion also aims to explore the future trajectory of the TRIPS Agreement amid ongoing technological, economic, and social shifts.
