Election of Stephan Erni, Fedor Poskriakov and Astrid Waser as new Partners

We have pleasure in informing you that Stephan Erni, Fedor Poskriakov and Astrid Waser became partners of our firm on 1 January 2012.

Stephan Erni studied at the universities of Zurich and Fribourg. He was admitted to the Zurich bar in 2002 and joined our firm the same year. In 2004/05 he obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of Virginia School of Law, and in 2005/06 he worked for Davis Polk & Wardwell in New York. His practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, including private equity, corporate law, insurance law, and banking and finance matters. Stephan Erni is also a regular speaker at mergers and acquisitions conferences and seminars.

After graduating from the University of Geneva Fedor Poskriakov trained at Lenz & Staehelin, and was admitted to the Geneva bar in 2003. He then joined Lenz & Staehelin’s banking and finance practice group as an associate. In 2004/05 he was seconded to the UK law firm Slaughter and May in London to acquire international experience. His practice focuses on the regulatory, contractual and corporate aspects of banking and finance law, as well as mergers and acquisitions in the banking sector and asset management industry, in particular alternative asset management and private equity. Fedor Poskriakov also has vast experience in wealth planning and asset structuring.

Astrid Waser studied law at the University of Lausanne and University College Dublin. In 1997, she obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in European law from the College of Europe in Bruges (Belgium). She was admitted to the Zurich Bar in 1999. In 2002, she received a PhD in European and Swiss competition law. Astrid Waser has worked in the field of European competition law with both the European Commission and a leading law firm in Brussels. In 2002, she joined Lenz & Staehelin in Zurich as an associate. Her practice focuses on competition law (antitrust law), media and telecoms law, and energy law. She advises in non-contentious matters and represents clients before Swiss authorities and courts, in particular in competition law investigations and merger control proceedings. Astrid Waser publishes on Swiss and European competition law, and is a regular speaker at conferences and seminars.
