The Capital Markets and Technology Association (CMTA) publishes the "Blueprint for the tokenization of shares of Swiss corporations"

On 30 October 2018, the Capital Markets and Technology Association (CMTA) published the "Blueprint for the tokenization of shares of Swiss corporations". The blueprint outlines the procedure for incorporating shares of Swiss corporations into digital tokens, registered in a decentralised ledger, typically a "blockchain".  The publication represents a major step forward in an area in which there has been significant legal and technical uncertainties and should facilitate the financing of businesses and innovation in Switzerland.

Founded by Lenz & Staehelin, Swissquote and Temenos with the support of Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), the CMTA's purpose is to facilitate the use of blockchain technology in financial markets.
