IBA 24th International Private Client Conference

The 24th International Private Client Conference will be held on 5-6 March 2019 at the Claridge's in London. Presented by the IBA Private Client Tax Committee and supported by the IBA Family Law Committee, this event gathers legal, business and regulatory professionals from more than 40 jurisdictions to examine the latest issues focussing on international wealth transfer, private clients’ taxes, estate planning.

Mark Barmes will be participating to the panel on “Trust litigation: pitfalls for the planner” on Tuesday 5 March, from 9:30 to 1100. The panel is going to explore jurisprudential developments with potentially significant ramification for planning. Topics will include: recent jurisprudence and the hazard of the capital only trusts; "post Pugachev-how resilient are settlor reserved powers?"; "are the planner’s communications with a settlor always privileged?" and "whether the settlement will survive a divorce?".
