The pandemic – temporarily yet with a lasting impact – changed the forms of communication, but it could neither stop nor slow down innovation.

On the contrary, what the pandemic has taken away from humanity is being given back by innovation. However, throughout the entire history of innovation, effective knowledge transfer has perhaps never been so urgently needed for success. We feel this on our skin as knowledge transfer professionals: we need to simultaneously recognize, understand and apply the development of technological solutions, and implement best practices prompted by newly emerging solutions.

The themes of the 2021 Pan-European Conference were built around the slogan “Sharing is caring” and cover no less important areas than SEP/FRAND, IP management in company groups, IP and Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), Trade Secrets and Know-How, University Technology Transfer, AI and Data Economy, Dispute settlement and IP Enforcement, Copyright in the Digital Age and Investing in IP.

Peter Ling will be moderating a panel discussion on "Concentric Circles of University Knowledge Transfer" on October 6.
