The purpose of the Federal Act against Unfair Competition (UCA) and the Ordinance on Price Indication (OPI) is to keep prices transparent and comparable as well as to prevent misleading price information. In its report of May 13, 2020, the Federal Council rejected a simplification of the regulations on price indication. In the case of cross-border advertising in Switzerland, the Swiss rules apply. In view of the complexity of these rules, some guidance is useful.
