On 10 April 2019, the Federal Council announced a temporary ban on new construction zones in the Cantons of Geneva, Zurich, Lucerne, Zug and Schwyz. The temporary ban will enter into effect on 1 May 2019 and will be valid until the affected Cantons have adapted their Cantonal legislation to the requirements imposed by Federal planning and zoning legislation.
