The Swiss Federal Council continues aligning the Swiss sanctions regime to the EU sanctions against Russia. On December 16, 2022, the Swiss Federal Council adopted further sanctions against Russia, in line with the latest measures adopted by the European Union (EU). The new measures relate to a price cap on Russian crude oil and petroleum products and extend the ban on transporting such products sold above the price cap to trade and brokering services.
