EMIR Refit and what it means for Swiss Counterparties
Following the European Commission's initial review of the European Market Infrastructure Regulation ("EMIR"), the EU legislators have agreed on certain amendments to EMIR (commonly referred to as EMIR Refit). EMIR Refit will enter into force on June 17, 2019, and is expected to have a positive impact on smaller counterparties and relaxes some of the current EMIR obligations.
