We are pleased to announce the promotion of Ariel Ben Hattar and Patrick Schärli to the firm's partnership. Eleni Christou and Laure Baumann have been promoted to the role of counsel.

The appointments come into effect on January 1, 2023.

Ariel Ben Hattar

Ariel Ben Hattar advises clients on matters relating to capital markets and innovation in financial technology. He advises financial market participants on transactional and regulatory matters, as well as on the use of new technologies in their activities, in particular distributed ledger technology.

Patrick Schärli
Attorney at Law, LL.M. | Zurich

Patrick Schärli specializes in capital markets and financial services regulatory matters and advises issuers as well as banks acting as underwriters in equity and debt offerings. He is a member of the editorial board of the corporate and capital markets law journal "Gesellschafts- und Kapitalmarktrecht (GesKR)" and a member of the editorial staff of the internet based law journal "CapLaw".

Eleni Christou

Eleni Christou specializes in Banking and Finance and Investigations law. Prior to joining the firm, Eleni worked for another law firm, as well as the General Counsel's Office of major investment banks in London and in Tokyo where she specialised in capital markets transactions, including derivatives trades, asset backed securities, repackagings and various structured products. In addition to her banking and finance work, Eleni regularly advises individuals, family offices and trustees in all aspects of wealth planning, corporate governance and corporate (re)structuring in both international and domestic contexts.

Laure Baumann

Laure Baumann specializes in immigration law. She advises both individuals and companies notably in the frame of Swiss work and/or residence permit applications, in particular in relation to the transfer or secondment of executives, first employment, internship, studies or family reunification. Laure Baumann also represents clients in immigration law contentious proceedings and she advises individuals in their applications for settlement permits and naturalisation.
