Combination of Holcim and Lafarge

On April 7, 2014, Holcim and Lafarge announced their intention to combine the two companies through a merger of equals, unanimously approved by their respective Board of Directors and fully supported by the core shareholders of both companies.

Lenz & Staehelin is advising Schweizerische Cement-Industrie-Aktiengesellschaft (beneficially held by Thomas Schmidheiny), which is a core shareholder of Holcim, throughout this transaction.

The team includes Rudolf Tschäni and Hans-Jakob Diem (both Partners, M&A and Corporate) and Pascal Hinny (Partner, Tax) as well as Simone Ehrsam (Associate, M&A and Corporate) and Stephan Brandner (Associate, Tax).
