Dr. Oetker acquires Tag El Melouk Food Industries LLC

On July 18, 2018, Germany-based global food producer Dr. Oetker finalized the acquisition of Tag El Melouk Food Industries LLC, the leading Egyptian manufacturer of baking ingredients, desserts, and other food products, founded in 1954 by the Paraskevas family.  

Matouk Bassiouny, Cairo, acted as legal counsel to the selling shareholders and Lenz & Staehelin advised on Swiss law matters. The Lenz & Staehelin team included partners Shelby R. du Pasquier (Corporate and M&A) and Frédéric Neukomm (Tax) as well as associate Matthias Späni (Corporate and M&A).
