AAE Group has closed innovative financing transaction

Lenz & Staehelin acted as counsel to the AAE Ahaus Alstätter Eisenbahn Group, the leading European group for the rental of rail freightcars, in connection with a ground-breaking refinancing transaction.

The financing consists of privately placed notes on the one hand and syndicated bank loans on the other hand. It is secured on a pool of railcars and the associated rental streams. The financing brings under a common structure the very diverse requirements of an insurance company, European banks and a family office.
