StoneX acquires CDI-Société Cotonnière de Distribution

On 1 November 2022, StoneX Group Inc., a U.S. company listed on Nasdaq, announced that it has expanded its cotton trading and hedging capabilities through the acquisition of the Lausanne-based CDI-Société Cotonnière de Distribution S.A. (CDI). Founded in 1957, CDI operates a global cotton merchant business with a strong network of producers in Brazil and West Africa, and buyers in the Asia-Pacific region.

Lenz & Staehelin advised CDI's sole shareholder and seller. The transaction team was headed by Jacques Iffland (Corporate) and Floran Ponce (Tax) and included Federico Trabaldo Togna (Corporate), Rébecca Dorasamy (Tax) and Yaël Nahmani (Corporate).
