Student programmes at Lenz & Staehelin
When you choose Lenz & Staehelin for your internship, you’ll be training among the best of the best. Working in a fast-paced international environment alongside our partners and associates, you’ll get to test your law school knowledge on cases, as well as experiencing the benefits of an intensive training and activities programme. It goes without saying that you’ll receive a competitive salary and a warm welcome into Lenz & Staehelin life.
Expect to get hands-on with cases, working alongside our partners and associates to learn the essentials and practise your skills. Twice a week at lunchtime one of our lawyers will take you through aspects of their work in our practice groups.
Rest assured, we won’t throw you in at the deep end. You’ll have a mentor to support you who’s always happy to answer questions – no matter how small.
And we believe that well-bonded teams work better together. So from lunches to days out, we plan group activities to bring you together with your fellow interns and mentors.
Our summer programme takes place on set summer dates but, depending on your circumstances, we can also offer internships during the academic year.
You’ll be assigned to a practice group. We’ve found this helps our interns build strong relationships with team members, get great follow-up on cases, and in-depth contact with our lawyers. We’re flexible and want to help you get the most from the programme, so if you’re interested in experiencing more than one practice group, we can make that happen.
In return for your commitment and contribution during your summer with us you’ll receive a salary of CHF 6,000 (gross lump sum). Then of course you’ll get access to our outstanding office facilities in Zurich and Geneva, a full programme of activities, and plenty of invaluable experience working closely with practice group.

A STANDOUT SUMMER
Kickstart your career with a summer internship. Over six weeks in Zurich or eight weeks in Geneva, you’ll work shoulder-to-shoulder on cases with our lawyers and gain in-depth expertise from mentoring and training sessions.
STUDENT PROGRAMS
The student trainee program is a six-week internship (Zurich) or an eight-week internship (Geneva) that we typically offer during law school summer break.
