Expertise
Jutta Gangsted is a senior associate in the Private Clients Practice of our Geneva office. Jutta specialises in various aspects of international wealth and estate planning, advising families across different generations, trustees and family offices in both contentious and non-contentious cross-border private wealth matters. This regularly involves advice in relation to trusts, philanthropic or artistic projects, the setting up and management of family offices, and other succession planning vehicles.
In particular, she advises clients on the interplay between common and civil-law, particularly in relation to their relocation to or out of Switzerland and the various cross-border issues that may arise in relation thereto.
She obtained her degree in Belgium, specialising in European and private international law before training at a law firm in Brussels. She then obtained an LL.M. at Columbia Law School (New York, USA) and was admitted as an attorney in the State of New York. She also obtained her STEP Diploma in International Trust Management achieving the highest Switzerland and Liechtenstein score for the Diploma and several of the individual examinations.
